Arsenal Chiefs Fly-Out To Seal €50m Deal After Striker Requests Move
Another day and another Karim Benzema update with Arsenal fans new favourite journalist claiming that we have flown-out to Madrid to try and thrash out a €50m deal.
Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianeli caused a stir after claiming on Wednesday that Benzema was heading to Arsenal after agreeing personal terms over a four-year deal worth €9m-per-season.
Obviously Arsenal fans were drooling with excitement at the thought of the French international lining-up alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil this coming season, but there was still the small matter of agreeing a fee to sort out.
Well, as the Metro report, Giulianeli gave another update on the situation yesterday and claimed that Arsenal chiefs will be in Madrid on Friday to try and secure a deal.
Arsenal mission tomorrow in Madrid to close the deal for Benzema. Offer will be around €50mln.

Benzema himself asked Real Madrid to join Arsenal. The meeting of tomorrow is to agree the payment terms.

The journo – who works for the likes of La Gazzetta dello Sport, FIFA Weekly and FourFourTwo – says our offer will be around €50m (£35m) and Benzema has already supposedly told Madrid he wants to move to the Emirates.
This news comes after Spanish football expert Graham Hunter told talkSPORT that Madrid need the money from Benzema’s sale to help finance a move for David De Gea and cope with their €500m debts, and they’d be prepared to sell if the striker asked for a move.
So far, we’ve only got Giulianeli’s word that Benzema has now said he wants to leave, so I’d be cautious not to get too excited just yet until something more concrete comes out, but it’s safe to say the Benzema-to-Arsenal rumours are intensifying by the day.
Arsene tried to play down the speculation at his press conference this morning, but should know by now not to listen to what he says publicly. He’ll never divulge anything to the press, and rightly so.
I personally think the boss is confident he can lure Benzema to North London this summer but I expect any potential deal to go right down to the final days of the transfer window.
We’ll have to wait and see if we can pull it off but it would be a sensational coup if we can do it, and I’d make us a strong contender for the title if Benzema was leading our attack this season.
Fingers crossed Gooners!
