Kelechi Nwakali has been busy on social media posting photos from his first day as an Arsenal player after completing his move from the Diamond Football Academy.
The Nigerian youngster has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates after he impressed scouts while leading his country to victory at the Under-17 World Cup in Chile last year, with the teenager later named as the Player of the Tournament.
The Daily Star reported a while ago that we’d agreed a £3m deal with the Diamond Football Academy in Nigeria for his signature and the young midfielder soon agreed terms over a five-year contract.
The deal has been delayed due to work permit issues but it looked like things were finalised last month after Nwakali posted a photo on his Facebook page of him posing with an Arsenal shirt but there was still no confirmation from the club.
The 18-year-old finally flew-in to London over the weekend and penned his Arsenal contract after fulfilling some international commitments with the Nigeria U20 squad.
It looks like the player has now enjoyed his first day at training as Nwakali has taken to Twitter to post some photos of him at London Colney in the car park, in the changing room in his Arsenal training kit while it also looks like he’s done some media work also.
As yet, there is STILL no official word from Arsenal on the transfer but it looks like everything has been wrapped-up and Nwakali is an Arsenal player, so let’s hope he can develop in to a fine player at the club.
