Video: Everton 2-1 Arsenal: Gunners crash at Goodison
Arsenal let slip a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to Everton at Goodison Park this evening with Ashley Williams scoring a late winner for the hosts.
We started well and broke the deadlock midway through the first half when Alexis Sanchez saw his free-kick deflect in to the net off Ashley Williams in the 20th minute for 0-1.
For some reason we dropped off the pace to let Everton back in to the game and they got their equaliser just before the break when Seamus Coleman headed home unmarked from 6 yards following a superb cross from Leighton Baines.
We had decent spells of possession in the second half but couldn’t find a way through and we eventually paid the price as Ashley Williams headed home from another free header in the 85th minute.
Alex Iwobi missed a golden chance to snatch a point at the death while there was also a huge shout for a penalty on Sanchez but it wasn’t to be so we crashed to just our second defeat of the season.
