According to the Mirror, Arsenal centre-back Shkodran Mustafi is confident he’ll be fit to face Chelsea in tomorrow evening’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

Mustafi missed our win over Everton on the final day of the Premier League season after taking a kick to the head against Sunderland last Tuesday night.

The German international managed to complete the game against the Black Cats but developed signs of concussion over the following days which saw him miss the Toffees game.

The 25-year-old has been unable to train this week leading to major concerns he could miss the cup final but the Mirror claim Mustafi remains confident he’ll be passed fit.

That would hand Arsene Wenger a HUGE boost as we’re facing a defensive crisis with Laurent Koscielny suspended and Gabriel ruled out with knee ligament damage.

However, the newspaper warns that although Mustafi feels he’ll be ready, the final decision may be taken out of his hands as he’ll need to be given the all-clear by doctors due to the FA’s strict ruled when it comes to concussion.

Therefore, Wenger is going to have to make a late decision on his starting eleven which is hardly ideal preparation ahead of a crucial FA Cup final against the Premier League champions.

Should Mustafi be ruled out, then the boss will have little option but to hand Per Mertesacker his first start of the season alongside Nacho Monreal and Rob Holding in a back three, or revert to a flat back four.

Let’s pray Shkodran is able to play or our defence is going to be extremely vulnerable this weekend….
