Arsenal handed major boost in attempt to sign £120m striker
Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe with The Sun reporting that Real Madrid are unwilling to pay over £75m for the Monaco sensation.
Mbappe has emerged as this summers big transfer saga with L’Equipe reporting late last week that Arsenal had seen an opening £87m bid rejected by the Ligue 1 champions.
Several top clubs – including a number of other Premier League teams – have been credited with an interest but Madrid are the bookies favourites to land the 18-year-old.
Obviously it’s difficult for any player to turn down Madrid, however, we’ve been handed a major boost as The Sun are citing reports coming out of Spain that claim the Champions League winners are refusing to pay over £75m.
Zinedine Zidane already has a wealth of attacking talent at his disposal so The Sun say Spanish outlet ABC have stated that Madrid have put a limit on what they are prepared to spend on Mbappe.
There is virtually no way Monaco will accept just £75m for Mbappe as the newspaper says Arsenal are ready to launch a stunning £120m bid which puts us in pole position to land the striker.
Arsene Wenger and Ivan Gazidis were spotted in the south of France on Monday, just 13 miles from Monaco, and The Sun say they were there to hold talks with Monaco over a deal for the teenager while we’ve also supposedly promised him the No.9 shirt if he comes to the Emirates.
Mbappe has also gone on record as saying his next move will be based on playing time and developing his career rather than money so this will also go in our favour over a lot of other teams.
We desperately need a world class striker so Mbappe would be a regular at Arsenal and we all know Wenger has an excellent record developing young players.

Obviously a deal is still a long way off but if we really are prepared to pay in excess of £100m to sign him, then I think we’ve got as good a chance as anyone of landing Mbappe this summer.
