Arsenal ready to raid rivals to sign highly-rated England winger

By on July 21, 2017

According to The Sun, Arsenal are hoping to lure highly-rated England youth attacker Jadon Sancho away from Manchester City this summer.

The 17-year-old came through the youth ranks at Watford before joining City two years ago in a deal that could be worth up to £500,000 and he was one of the star performers as England reached the final of this summer’s European Under 17 Championships.

Sancho is highly-rated at the Etihad and Pep Guardiola was fully-expected to take the left winger on their pre-season tour of the United States after praising the teenager’s potential in recent months.

A new contract is also in the pipe-line as City look to tie him to the club for the long-term, however, Sancho’s future has now been cast in doubt after he was surprisingly left out of their tour squad.

Pep Guardiola has a wealth of attacking options at his disposal and The Sun claim that Sancho is struggling to see how he’s going to break in to their first team set-up any time soon.

The uncertainty has alerted Arsenal as the newspaper says Arsene Wenger has been monitoring the situation closely and is now hoping to lure Sancho back in north London this summer.

City aren’t willing to let him go without a fight and The Sun claim we’ll also face stiff competition from Tottenham if the youngster does decide to return south, so a deal isn’t going to be easy to pull off.

Fans are all excited to see what established first team players Wenger buys this summer but it’s good to see the boss is still looking out for our future and Sancho sounds like he’d be an excellent addition if we could somehow secure a deal.
