Arsenal transfer news: Attacker in London to force through move
According to the Metro, Manchester City wonderkid Jadon Sancho has skipped training and travelled back to London as he tries to force through a move to either Arsenal or Tottenham this summer.
Sancho’s future has been cast in doubt after he was left out of the City squad for their pre-season tour of the United States last month despite a number of other youngsters being taken on the trip.
The 17-year-old was left unimpressed by the snub and the Metro claim Sancho has refused to sign a £30,000-a-week contract offer from City as he doesn’t see himself being given any first team opportunities by Pep Guardiola any time soon.
The newspaper cites the Independent as saying that Sancho has now decided to miss training with City this week in order to travel back to London as he looks to try and force through a move to either Arsenal or Tottenham.
A number of top flight clubs have been linked with the England youth international but the newspaper says he wants to return to north London where he grew up having come through Watford’s youth system.
The report says Sancho has already informed City he doesn’t see a future for himself at the Etihad and Arsenal are confident of getting a deal agreed as we are willing to match the £30,000-a-week City have offered and his close friend Reiss Nelson is already at the club.
The teenager has just one year left on his scholarship contract but according to the Metro, any club wanting to buy him this summer will have to pay City around £4m in compensation.

Sancho is one of the best young talents in Britain and was named as the Player of the Tournament after scoring 7 goals to help England reach the final at this summers Under-17 European Championships so it would be something of a coup if we managed to sign him.
