Arsenal ready to launch swoop for £26m Brazilian forward

By on August 10, 2017

According to a report in the Express newspaper, Arsenal are ready to launch a swoop for £26m-rated Gremio forward Luan after his proposed move to Spartak Moscow fell through.

Luan has been strongly linked with a move away from Brazil this summer after turning down the chance to sign a new contract with Gremio – where he’s been since leaving Catanduvense in 2013.

The 24-year-old is considered one of the hottest attackers in South American football and he’s scored 11 goals and provided 5 assists in his 22 appearances so far in 2017.

Luan’s contract is up next year so Gremio are ready to cash-in and the Express claim he’s available for around £26m with a move to Spartak Moscow being touted in the media recently.

However, that proposed deal has now collapsed and the newspaper is citing a report from Brazilian outlet Zero Hora that suggests Arsenal are now ready to swoop for the attacker.

Arsene Wenger is in the market for attacking reinforcements after struggling to agree terms with Monaco for Thomas Lemar and it looks like the boss has identified Luan as a possible alternative.

The 1-cap Brazilian international is an attacking midfielder who can also play as a second striker or a front-man so he’d give Wenger plenty of options in the final third if he was to move to north London.

However, we aren’t the only Premier League club showing an interest as the report says Liverpool are also eyeing a move for Luan as Jurgen Klopp looks for potential replacements for Philippe Coutinho – who’s being strongly linked with Barcelona.

Let’s see how things develop but Luan would be a hugely exciting signing if we could win the race for his signature this summer.
