Video: West Brom 1-1 Arsenal: Gunners robbed by Mike Dean yet again
Arsenal were robbed of two vital points after Mike Dean gifted West Brom a late penalty and a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns this evening.
In truth it was a pretty poor game and there were very few clear cut chances to speak of during the opening 80-odd minutes.
We finally found a way through as Alexis Sanchez’s 82nd minute free-kick deflected off James McClean and past Ben Foster for 1-0.
However, we were totally screwed once again by Mike Dean as he gifted West Brom an equaliser from the spot a few minutes later.
Kieran Gibbs kicked the ball against Calum Chambers’ arm – which was in a natural position in front of his body – and Dean couldn’t wait to award a penalty. Jay Rodriguez converted, obviously, for 1-1 in the 89th minute.
We couldn’t find a last gasp winner so have to settle for a point which leaves us three points adrift of Liverpool.
