Arsenal expect key trio to be passed fit to face Stoke on Sunday
According to the Telegraph, Arsenal are set for a triple injury boost with Jack Wilshere, Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette all expected to be fit to face Stoke City on Sunday.
Wilshere was ruled out of England’s friendlies against Holland and Italy during the international break after suffering a knee injury in training with the Three Lions last week.
The midfielder was sent back to London Colney to be assessed but the issue is only believed to be minor and the Telegraph claim Arsenal are confident Wilshere will be ready for the visit of Stoke to the Emirates this weekend.
Ramsey wasn’t even called up for Wales duty as he underwent a minor operation on a long-standing groin problem last week to try and rectify the issue ahead of the World Cup finals.
The midfielder was pictured back in training yesterday after making a swift recovery and it looks like Rambo will also be available for selection against the Potters on Sunday.
Lacazette hasn’t featured for Arsenal since the 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley in early February after undergoing surgery on a knee ligament injury.
However, the French international returned to training earlier this month and the Telegraph claim Arsenal expect Lacazette to be available this weekend unless he suffers any setback over the coming days.
Obviously it will be a major boost to have Wilshere, Ramsey and Lacazette fit to face Stoke but more importantly the trio will also be available for our Europa League quarter final first leg against CSKA Moscow a week on Thursday.
Lacazette’s return in particular will come as a relief because Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is ineligible so the Frenchman will give us another important option up front to compete with Danny Welbeck.
