Arsenal vs West Ham Preview
Arsenal will look to bounce back from the defeat at Newcastle United when we welcome West Ham to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
We looked to be heading to another three points when Alexandre Lacazette fired us ahead early on at St James’ Park but sloppy defending saw the Geordies fight back to claim a 2-1 win.
That defeat has virtually guaranteed that Arsenal will miss out on the top four once again this season so we’re left battling with Burnley to finish sixth in the Premier League table.
While our away form has been shocking this year with zero points from our five league games on the road in 2018, our home form has been excellent so we should be confident of getting back to winning ways on Sunday.
The problem is, Arsene Wenger is expected to rest several of his key men ahead of next week’s Europa League semi-final first leg against Atletico Madrid so we will see a severely weakened side this weekend.
Laurent Koscielny, Nacho Monreal, Hector Bellerin, Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil and Alexandre Lacazette could all be rested so we’ll be relying on the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alex Iwobi to get a positive result.
The good news is we’ve been devastating at home against sides outside of the top five with 12 consecutive victories against the ‘lesser’ teams and we’ve won by more than one goal in eight of those games.
West Ham on the other hand are yet to win away to a side outside of the bottom six this season. Arsenal is looking good in the EPL betting odds by Crownbet so far. To know how long they can maintain their position, keep your eye on CrownBet for the latest odds on the upcoming matches.
I’m also expecting goals on Sunday. Arsenal had scored 20 goals in our last 7 games before the defeat to Newcastle and we’ve scored at least 3 times in each of our last five home games. We’re also known to leak a few goals too as we’ve only kept just 4 clean sheets in our last 15 games.
For those who like to bet on the correct score market, I’m predicting a 3-1 Arsenal victory on Sunday afternoon. I am concerned that the player will have one eye on the Europa League semi-final first leg against Atletico as that’s certainly the priority.
