New Madrid Boss Carlo Ancelotti To Sanction Higuain Move Within 24 Hours
Arsenal protracted move for Gonzalo Higuain has taken another step forward today after Carlo Ancelotti was officially confirmed as Real Madrid’s new manager.
Ancelotti has been widely expected to to be named as Jose Mourinho’s replacement in recent weeks but the move had to be delayed until PSG could find a new manager of their own. The French outfit finally announced Laurent Blanc as boss today on a short-term deal allowing Madrid to reveal Ancelotti – who has signed a three-year deal.
The developments have a positive knock-on effect for Arsenal as the future of Gonzalo Higuain can also be sorted out and the Telegraph claims that Ancelotti will sanction the strikers sale within the next 24 hours.
The newspaper says Arsenal and Juventus are still in the running with both clubs understood to have agreed personal terms with the player and lodged official bids to Madrid for the 25-year-old. However, reports today have suggested Juve are now in talks with Man City over Carlos Tevez with Higuain seemingly bound for north London.
So we could have ourselves a new record signing within 24 hours Gooners! Should we manage to clinch his signing, Higuain is expected to cost in the region of £22m which will easily surpass the £15m we paid Zenit St Petersburg for Andrey Arshavin in 2009.
His signing would be a real statement of intent by the club and his goal threat will add a new dimension to our attack. His impressive haul of 107 La Liga goals in six seasons for Madrid is only surpassed by Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo during that period, so he certainly knows where the goal is. And with the likes of Santi Cazorla and Jack Wilshere supplying the bullets, I fancy he’ll be finding the net on a regular basis at Arsenal…..if we manage to get this one over the line.
