Moyes: News On Fabregas Bid ‘Within The Next Day’ – Arsenal Fans Worried?
Manchester United manager David Moyes hopes to have more news on the clubs bid to sign former Arsenal midfielder Cesc Fabregas ‘within the next day’.
The champions submitted an opening offer believed to be worth £25m on Monday and chief executive Ed Woodward flew home early from the clubs pre-season tour on Wednesday to attend to urgent transfer business – which many thought was linked to Fabregas.
Moyes has now claimed he’s hoping to know more on where United are at with their bid ‘within the next day’. Speaking to Sky Sports, he said:
“I couldn’t tell you exactly where we are with that, but I will hopefully know a little bit more in the next day.
“I might have a little bit more information about how it’s going.”
So it appears United are serious in trying to lure Fabregas to Old Trafford. I honestly haven’t given this transfer a second thought as I really don’t see Cesc going to United. Call me naive, but there’s only one club he’ll leave Barcelona for, and that’s Arsenal.
I’ll be posting an article on why I’m so confident he won’t join United later today, but for now let’s allow the United fans this time to get excited about the thought of signing Cesc.
Arsene Wenger confirmed on Wednesday that we had a buy-back clause in the players contract, so we’ll be kept well informed of United interest. No club can sign him without us either putting a proposal forward to Fabregas or passing up the opportunity to re-sign him – Arsene already hinted that we’d be interested, so that wouldn’t happen – and Cesc wouldn’t turn down the chance to come back to north London.
Keep calm Arsenal fans, Cesc to United isn’t going to happen. Stay tuned for the reasons why, I’ll have the article up shortly.

Are you worried that Cesc could join United? Should we be going all-out to try and re-sign him?
