Atletico Madrid Ace Is “Interested In Working Under Arsene Wenger”
The agent of Arda Turan has claimed that the Atletico Madrid winger is interested in playing under Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, but we may have to wait if we want to lure him to the Emirates.
The Turkish international has been linked with a move to several Premier League clubs in recent transfer windows, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United among those understood to be interested.
The 27-year-old appeared to end speculation over his future when he signed a new long-term deal with Atletico Madrid last December.
However, while the attackers agent, Ahmed Bulut, has confirmed the player is happy at the Vicente Calderon, he opened the door to a future switch to Arsenal after admitting Turan want to work under Wenger and is keen on playing in the Premier League.
“He is interested in working under Arsene Wenger and Arda would like to play in England.
“But Arda will not leave Atletico yet. They are part of the title race and he is a key player.
“Arda plays for a big club and he will be part of Atletico’s success. I would like to emphasise again that Arda recently extended his contract. He will be staying at Atletico.” Bulut told news outlet Bold
Turan represented Turkey at every youth level and has gone on to become a key member to the senior side, scoring 14 goals in his 71 caps to date.
He’s also developed into a key player in Diego Simone’s team, helping Atletico keep pace with Barcelona and Real Madrid in the La Liga title race.
I think he’d be a superb addition to the squad and although he seems keen on linking up with Wenger, I don’t think we’ll be able to prize him away from Atletico any time soon.
