Arsenal Suffer Double Injury Blow Ahead Of Spurs Game
It looks like we’re going to be without a number of first team players for Sunday’s North London Derby with Kieran Gibbs and Aaron Ramsey set to miss out.
Rambo has been out since Boxing Day with a thigh injury but had targetted the Tottenham game as his comeback date after returning to full training last week.
However, reports today claim that the Welshman has failed to make sufficient progress and will now miss the trip to White Hart Lane this weekend.
In what’s a double blow, Gibbs is also set to be ruled out of the game after failing to recover from the ankle knock that saw him miss Tuesday’s draw with Bayern, although it does look like Nacho Monreal could be passed fit after missing the last four games with a foot injury.
We really haven’t had any luck with injuries once again this season and it looks like we’ll be heading into a vital NLD without five first team players, with Ramsey and Gibbs joining Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil on the sidelines.
Nicklas Bendtner is unlikely to be involved amid rumours he was involved in a drunken row with a taxi driver in Denmark during the week, while Yaya Sanogo and Kim Kallstrom face late fitness tests.
Defeat on Sunday would see Spurs move to within just three points of us – although we do have a game in hand – so it’s important we don’t lose, while a win would all-but guarantee at least a top four finish this season.
