TEAM NEWS: Monreal + Kallstrom Fit For Spurs, Ramsey + Ozil Update
Arsene Wenger has been speaking at his pre-match press conference today ahead of Sunday’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur and he’s given us the latest team news.
The good news is that left-back Nacho Monreal and January signing Kim Kallstrom are both fit and available for the trip to White Hart Lane.
Monreal has recovered from a foot injury that’s kept him out of the last four games while Kallstrom has finally overcome a back injury and could make his debut on Sunday.
Kieran Gibbs is facing a late fitness test on an ankle injury that he suffered last week against Everton, while Yaya Sanogo had a positive test on Thursday and could be back in the squad.
Arsene also confirmed the bad news that Aaron Ramsey has suffered a minor set-back in his recovery from a thigh injury and will now be out for a further two weeks. It means he will not only miss the Spurs game but also our fixtures against Chelsea and Swansea, and will be in a race against time to face Man City.
There was also clarification over Mesut Ozil’s injury with the boss confirming the German has suffered a grade 2 hamstring injury and will be out for between 3-6 weeks, but he’s planning for him to miss four.
