TEAM NEWS: Ox, Rambo, Kos, Poldi & Rosicky Doubts To Face West Ham

By on April 14, 2014

A battle weary Arsenal side will look to regain fourth spot when we welcome West Ham to the Emirates on Tuesday night.

The game comes just 72 hours after an energy-sapping FA Cup semi-final win over Wigan at Wembley, and it’s no surprise Arsene Wenger has confirmed we have several doubts for the game tomorrow.

The boss has been speaking at his pre-match press conference this morning where he revealed that six players are doubts to face the Hammers, with Aaron Ramsey, The Ox, Lukas Podolski, Tomas Rosicky, Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal all facing late fitness tests.

Rosicky and Koscielny both missed the Wigan game through injury and will now undergo tests today to see if they can be in contention to face Sam Allardyce’s men. Hopefully they will be passed fit as the squad is down to it’s bare bones right now and many of the players are going to be knackered from Saturday’s exploits.

Rambo played over 110 minutes at the weekend so it would be a huge risk for him to start again after such a long time on the sidelines, so we could see Kim Kallstrom make his first start for the club with Mathieu Flamini still suspended.

Monreal was stretchered off in the second half and although it was just a bruise, he is a doubt for tomorrow along with Podolski and Oxlade-Chamberlain. The Ox was rushed back to play at Wembley and was stretching his calf throughout extra-time, so I’d be surprised if he started again against West Ham.

Mesut Ozil, Jack Wilshere, Theo Walcott, Ryo Miyaichi and Serge Gnabry remain out, while Abou Diaby is still working his way back to fitness. Hopefully we can pick up three points tomorrow then get some players back fit again to face Hull on Sunday.
