RATINGS: Sanchez Superb, The Ox Awful, As Arsenal Draw With Hull
A truly terrible second half performance saw us draw 2-2 with Hull City at the Emirates on Saturday afternoon. Here are my ratings:
Szczesny – 5/10 – They had two shots on goal and scored twice. Neither goal was particularly Szczesny’s fault though.
Bellerin – 6.5/10 – Looked comfortable in the side and was always looking keen to make things happen.
Monreal – 6/10 – Weak defending allowed Diame to surge into the area. Nacho should have stopped him before he even got to Flamini. Otherwise he was solid enough.
Mertesacker – 5/10 – Very poor defending for their second as he simply stood still and allowed Hernandez to attack the ball.
Gibbs – 6/10 – Not really troubled defensively but wasn’t a threat going forward either.
Flamini – 5/10 – Was fouled for the first goal but he should still have been far stronger to hold off Diame and not stopped play when the whistle wasn’t blown.
Wilshere – 7/10 – Looked very lively in the first half but was forced off with a knee injury. I’ve heard it’s not serious though.
Cazorla – 6/10 – Close to opening the scoring with a superb effort early on and although he saw plenty of the ball after that, he didn’t really do too much with it.
Sanchez – 8/10 – Excellent goal as he fired low past Harper and his brilliance set-up Welbeck for the late equaliser.
The Ox – 5/10 – Disappointing from the Ox. Looked like he was trying too hard at times which led to sloppy passes and some very wayward shots. Missed a great chance to make it 2-0 which would most likely have led to three points.
Welbeck – 7/10 – Took his goal extremely well. Didn’t have a sniff of goal all game but showed his composure to tuck it home when he finally got his chance in the 90th minute.
Subs:
Ramsey – 6/10 – It was a real surprise to see him on the bench and he got a decent 30 minutes under his belt.
Campbell – 6.5/10 – Really lively cameo from the youngster. Deserves more minutes.
