Wenger Set To Move For PERFECT Midfielder
Reports today are claiming that Arsene Wenger is set to renew his interest in Morgan Schneiderlin after being told he can splash the cash once again in January.
We were linked with Schneiderlin throughout the summer, as were our North London rivals Tottenham, and the midfielder went public with his desire to leave Saint Mary’s in search of European football.
But Southampton refused to sell after already allowing the likes of Luke Shaw, Calum Chambers, Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Dejan Lovren to leave and he was forced to remain on the South Coast.
The 24-year-old has continued his excellent form this season and the Mirror are reporting that Arsene has made him his No.1 target during the winter window as he looks to finally sign a defensive midfielder.
It’s painfully obviously that we need a new holding player and I made my feelings clear in the summer that I thought Schneiderlin was the PERFECT player to fill the void.
He’s superb on the ball, an excellent passer, is good positionally and sniffs out danger, and he also has an eye for goal, so I would personally love to see him come to the Emirates.
The Mirror seem to think we’ll make a renewed attempt with Southampton valuing him at around £25m, but I’m not sure we’ll have much luck this time around.
Ronald Koeman’s side have enjoyed a flying start to the season and if they are still in and around the top four in January I just can’t see them agreeing to sell.
Let’s hope I’m wrong as Schneilderin would make a huge difference to this Arsenal team.
