Wenger ‘Makes Contact’ With Agent Of World Class Defender – Reports
Some very interesting transfer news to bring you this afternoon with reports in Spain claiming that Arsenal have made contact with the agent of Sergio Ramos about a shock move to the Emirates.
Ramos has been an integral part of the Madrid side for nearly a decade since moving from Sevilla in 2005 and he’s led them to a whole host of honours, including the Champions League last season.
However, speculation in recent weeks has suggested that the Spanish international might be open to a new challenge as talks over a new contract continue to stall.
It appears Arsenal have now made the first step over an audacious swoop with AS journalist Manuel Esteban Manolete claiming that Arsene has made contact with the centre-back’s agent and brother, Rene Ramos.
“Wenger has called Rene Ramos, the agent and brother of Sergio Ramos,” he told radio show La Goleada.
The news comes after the boss complained about a lack of leadership at the back in the current Arsenal side and he’s already confirmed he’ll bring in another defender if he finds the right player next month.
It’s highly unlikely Ramos will leave the Bernabeu in January but if Madrid don’t up their contract offer soon, he could be available in the summer and obviously he’d be a sensational signing if we could somehow pull it off.
