DONE DEAL! Arsenal Complete First Signing [Photos]

By on January 21, 2015

Arsenal has finally completed the signing of Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw.

Bielik arrived in London late last week to undergo his medical after we agreed a fee – believed to be £2.3m – with Legia.

The 17-year-old announced that he’d sign his contract on Monday so we’ve been patiently waiting for the club to tie up all the loose ends.

We finally announced the deal has been concluded this morning, with a statement on Arsenal.com reading:

Arsenal have completed the signing of 17-year-old midfielder Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw for an undisclosed fee.

Bielik is a highly-rated youngster whose made his name as a holding midfielder since breaking into the Legia first team earlier this season but he can also fill in as a centre-back, so it will be interesting to see where Arsene sees him playing in the future.

My guess is he’ll predominantly be a defensive midfielder but while he’s expected to train with the first team straight away, I don’t see him featuring much this season. Especially considering the development of Coquelin in recent weeks.

Bielik isn’t one to get us too excited but a signing is a signing and hopefully he’ll develop into a top player with us.

Welcome to the club!
