Arsenal Line-Up SHOCK Move For £25m Star – Reports
Reports in France are claiming that Arsenal will make a shock swoop for Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris in the summer.
Speculation has been rife that Arsene Wenger is looking to bring in a new No.1 after dropping Wojciech Szczesny following his poor display at Southampton.
The Pole was also disciplined for smoking in the dressing room after the game and sat on the bench for the next three games before being recalled for last weeks FA Cup win over Brighton.
It remains to be seen whether Szczesny will regain the first team shirt for the rest of the season but L’Equipe believe Wenger is already planning to bring in a new stopper in the summer and has set his sights on Lloris.
The French newspaper claims that we’ll make an audacious swoop for the 28-year-old as we feel he’ll be keen on leaving Tottenham once they inevitably finish outside the top four again this season.
Lloris is no doubt a world class keeper and it’s understood he’d command a fee in the region of £25m, but can anyone honestly see Spurs selling to us?
Even if Lloris demanded a move because he wanted Champions League football, there would be plenty of takers on the continent with PSG and Real Madrid also linked.
So while it’s nice to dream about having a reliable No.1 like Lloris between the sticks next season, there’s virtually no chance that lot down the road would do business with us for their best player, so Arsene will have to look elsewhere….
