RATINGS: Ozil Inspires Arsenal To 5-0 Thrashing Of Aston Villa
Arsenal thrashed Aston Villa 5-0 at the Emirates this afternoon with Giroud, Ozil, Walcott, Cazorla and Bellerin all getting themselves on the score-sheet.
Here are my ratings:
Ospina – 7/10 – Made two fine saves to ensure he kept a clean sheet. Sound handling from crosses too.
Bellerin – 8/10 – Superb all-round display capped off with an excellent goal. The boy has some engine on him too as he was still bombing down the wing in the 90th minute.
Mertesacker – 7/10 – Solid performance. Dealt with the awkward threat of Benteke well.
Koscielny – 7/10 – Kept a weak Villa attack at bay with relative ease.
Monreal – 7/10 – Another solid shift from Monreal at left-back. A real threat to Gibbs now.
Coquelin – 8/10 – Continued his fine form with another excellent shift. Made several tackles and interceptions and his passing was on point.
Ramsey – 7/10 – Went close to getting on the score-sheet and worked hard for the team.
Walcott – 7.5/10 – Looked a little rusty in the first half but then scored a wonderful goal after the break.
Cazorla – 8.5/10 – One goal, two assists and another excellent all-round display from the little Spaniard. Although he was fortunate with his penalty.
Ozil – 9/10 – Outstanding. Stunning assist for Giroud’s goal and a cool finish to make it 2-0. We’ve missed him so much.
Giroud – 8/10 – Nice finish to open the scoring and returned the favour to assist Ozil with a lovely through-ball. His hold-up play was also very good.
Subs:
Rosicky – 6.5/10 – Unlucky not to start but kept things moving when he came on for the final 20 minutes.
Akpom – 7/10 – A very lively cameo from the youngster. Went close to scoring twice and won the penalty.

So a superb all-round performance from us and we’re now knocking on the door of the top four again. Tottenham up next and Arsene’s going to have a few selection dilemma’s to ponder over…..
