It’s been another busy day of team and injury news at Arsenal so I’ll bring you a round-up of everything that’s been going on….

Arsene Wenger held his pre-match press conference on Friday morning ahead of Monday night’s FA Cup quarter final against Manchester United and he’s given Arsenal.com a team news update.

Unfortunately the boss confirmed that Gabriel Paulista will miss up to three weeks after picking up a hamstring injury during our 2-1 win over QPR on Wednesday night.

It’s a real blow as the Brazilian has only just started to break into the first team following his move in January but he’s now set to miss upcoming games against United, West Ham, Monaco and perhaps also the Newcastle clash later this month.

There was some good news though as Nacho Monreal could be back in the squad on Monday. The full-back missed the QPR game with a minor back injury but Arsene said he’d undergo a fitness test on Friday afternoon to see if he’s able to play.

The final update from the boss was that Wojciech Szczesny is also facing a late fitness test to see if he can return to the squad after also missing the game at Loftus Road through illness.

If Szczesny is deemed fit, then Arsene has confirmed the Polish international will start in goal in place of David Ospina.

Here’s what the boss told Arsenal.com:

on Gabriel…

Gabriel has a little hamstring injury and he will be out for two to three weeks. He has a scan today. That means he’s not available for the weekend and certainly not for West Ham United or Monaco, but after that he should be available again.

on team news…

We will of course lose Gabriel in the squad and Nacho Monreal might come back. He will have a test today. Everybody else should be available – the same squad that played against Queens Park Rangers.

on having most players fit…

We have a lot of competition going on in the team, especially up front – we have plenty of offensive potential. It makes every decision more difficult.

on Szczesny…

He has a test today. If he gets through that test, he will play on Monday night.

Jack Wilshere, Mikel Arteta, Abou Diaby and Mathieu Debuchy remain out through injury but Aaron Ramsey could be pushing for a start after making his return as a substitute in midweek.

We head to Old Trafford above them in the league and playing much better football than them, so hopefully we can secure an overdue win over United to book our place in the last four of the cup.
