Arsenal Hoping To Wrap-Up €34m Deal For Spanish Attacker

By on March 30, 2015

According to reports, Arsenal are looking to close out a deal worth €34m to land out-of-favour Barcelona attacker Pedro this summer.

Pedro has been with the Catalans since he was a teenager but has fallen down the pecking order in recent years with the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez all keeping him out the side.

The 27-year-old has already voiced his frustration at his lack of playing time and confirmed  that he’ll hold talks about his future with Barca bosses at the end of the season.

Despite Barcelona being under a transfer ban which prevents them being able to sign any players until January 2016, the report suggests that boss Luis Enrique will allow Pedro to leave at the end of the current campaign.

We’ve long been linked with a move for the Spanish international and it seems we’re ready to renew our interest as the Metro are now citing reports coming out of Spain which claim we’re hoping to wrap-up a €34m (£24.8m) deal this summer.

Who knows how much truth there is behind this latest report but if we are pushing to sign Pedro, then I think Arsene has identified him as a potential replacement for Theo Walcott.

Theo’s contract will enter it’s final year in June and there’s been no indication an extension will be signed any time soon. If the England ace does leave, then Pedro would be an excellent replacement as he has lightning pace and has a real eye for goal.
