Wenger Offers Positive Injury Update On Ramsey & Koscielny
Arsene Wenger has played down the injuries suffered by Laurent Koscielny and Aaron Ramsey during today’s 4-1 win over Liverpool.
Koscielny was forced off just minutes after half time and rumours began circulating that he may have aggravated his troublesome Achilles injury as there was no sign of him picking up any other sort of knock.
However, thankfully, Arsene has revealed that Kos was suffering from tightness in his thigh and it sounds like they decided not to risk him for the rest of the game.
Ramsey was also forced off mid-way through the second half with the midfielder limping off as he was replaced by Mathieu Flamini.
The boss has confirmed that Rambo picked up an ankle injury but says it’s ‘not bad’.
Wenger told reporters after the game:
“Koscielny has a little tightness in his thigh and Ramsey’s is an ankle problem, but it’s not bad,”
So our ‘fully fit squad’ didn’t last too long then, huh?! In all seriousness, it doesn’t sound like these injuries are too serious so hopefully Ramsey and Koscielny will be fit to face Burnley next weekend.
Today’s 4-1 win over Liverpool has put us in a strong position to qualify for the Champions League once again next season and another win at Turf Moor next week will take us one step closer to securing that top four berth.
