Ratings: Coquelin Superb As Arsenal Beat Burnley 1-0
An early goal from Aaron Ramsey was enough to secure Arsenal a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Burnley this evening.
Here are my ratings:
Ospina 7/10 – Made a couple of decent saves and commanded his area well.
Bellerin 6/10 – Wasn’t his best game as he looked a little suspect at the back but he got forward well and was offered little protection from Ramsey.
Mertesacker 6/10 – His lack of pace was exposed a couple of times but he was excellent in the air.
Koscielny 7/10 – Covered for his defensive partner when he was caught out and was easily able to deal with the limited threat Burnley had to offer.
Monreal 7/10 – Another solid outing from the ever-reliable Spaniard.
Coquelin 8.5/10 – Outstanding. He made 11 interceptions. ELEVEN! I can’t stress enough how much this lad has brought to this team.
Cazorla 6/10 – Went close with a free-kick and was tidy in possession but had little influence in the final third.
Ramsey 7/10 – Another important goal for Rambo and it was a decent finish. However, he was meant to be playing right-wing and kept coming inside leaving Bellerin exposed and no width to the team.
Ozil 7/10 – Showed some magic touches and two of his passes were outstanding. Looked a little tired near the end though.
Alexis 7/10 – Always a danger when he was on the ball and worked hard off it. His shot was blocked in the build up to Ramsey’s goal.
Giroud 5/10 – A real struggle for Olivier today. He was barely in the game and at times he looked like he wasn’t even trying to get on the ball. Hopefully a one off as he’s been in great form lately.
