Key £25m Target Favours Arsenal Move Over Man Utd

By on April 15, 2015

According to reports in Italy, Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin favours a move to Arsenal over the likes of Man United and Chelsea.

Schneiderlin has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent months with widespread reports suggesting he’s one of Arsene Wenger’s key summer transfer targets.

Southampton blocked his exit last summer but Ronald Koeman has already confirmed that it’s going to be difficult to keep hold of the £25m-rated midfielder at the end of this season.

Koeman told reporters last week:

“It will be hard when there is real interest in the player. It is up to the player what he likes to do.

“It is very hard but normally if we have the season like we have so far there will be interest in the players of Southampton.

“If he gets a big offer from a big team, there is always interest for the player and I understand that.

“That is normal, we know our level and that is a compliment for the players and the club.”

Schneiderlin himself has said many times he wants to be playing in the Champions League so a move is almost a certainty this summer.

It seems we’ve now been handed another boost in our pursuit as reports coming out of Italy suggest that the French international’s first choice is a move to Arsenal.

I’ve said many times that Schneiderlin is my preferred midfield option this summer so this would be excellent news if it turns out to be true.

Obviously United and Chelsea would be tempting but the report suggests that the 25-year-old wants to play under Arsene Wenger and I’m sure the heavy French-presence at the Emirates has influenced his decision.
