Arsenal Superstar Linked With Shock Chelsea Move – Silly-Season Has Begun

By on April 20, 2015

Silly-season has certainly began early this year as speculation today is linking Chelsea with a move for Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil this summer.

The Daily Star are citing a report from Spain which claims that Jose Mourinho has ‘declared an interest’ in signing Ozil at the end of the season.

The paper has a tone that appears to suggest Ozil isn’t fully appreciated at Arsenal and they point out he and Mourinho enjoyed a good relationship together at Real Madrid.

The so-called ‘special one’ signed Ozil for Madrid from Werder Bremen in 2010 and they won the La Liga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de Espana together at the Bernabeu.

It’s well-known that the pair remain close as Ozil has given Mourinho his shirt twice in recent games and the Blues boss even named him in his All-Time XI.

However, this is a transfer that is simply not going to happen. No matter how the media spin it, Ozil is happy at the Emirates, is under contract and we have no interest in selling him. Especially to Mourinho and Chelsea – the side that we’re aiming to overhaul to win the league next year.

Hopefully this ridiculous rumour gets nipped in the bud quickly. In fact, Mourinho has probably ‘leaked’ this story to the press himself to try and destabilise Arsenal and Ozil as he knows we’re coming for them next season!
