Arsene Wenger Confimrs Trio Will Miss Hull City Trip
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Mathieu Debuchy, Mikel Arteta and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss Monday’s clash with Hull City.
We brought you the news yesterday that Debuchy was a major doubt after picking up a hamstring injury in training this week.
It appears the French international is losing his battle to prove his fitness as the boss confirmed at his pre-match press conference this morning that Debuchy is unlikely to make the trip to the KC Stadium.
The 29-year-old will therefore join Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on the sidelines as Arsene has also confirmed that the midfielder is still unavailable.
There were reports earlier in the week that The Ox had an outside chance of returning to the squad on Monday after missing over two months with groin and hamstring injuries.
However, it seems he’s not going to be considered for selection as he still lacks match fitness, so he’s now in-line to return against Swansea City next Monday.
Mikel Arteta is also still unavailable as he continues to work his way back to full fitness following five months out with an ankle injury.
The Spaniard is taking part in training and has featured for the under-21’s in recent weeks, but is still not considered fit enough to make his first team return.
Here’s what Arsene had to say this morning:
