Arsenal To Offer 3-Year Deal After Meeting Agent Of Man Utd Target

By on May 27, 2015

According to reports, Arsenal have met the representatives of Petr Cech and are willing to offer the goalkeeper a three-year deal in order to beat Manchester United to his signature.

Cech is set to leave Stamford Bridge after losing his place to Thibaut Courtois this season and the 33-year-old confirmed earlier this month that he’s not prepared to spend another year as a No.2.

Widespread speculation suggests that Blues owner Roman Abramovich has an agreement with the Czech international to let him join any club he wants – even if it’s a direct Premier League rival.

The likes of PSG have been strongly linked but it’s understood that Cech would prefer to remain in England, with Arsenal and Manchester United leading the race for his signature.

We’ve always been touted as possible favourites as Cech and his family are settled in London but it appears we’ve really put ourselves in the driving seat as reports claim we’ve now held formal talks with the keepers agents.

It’s reported that Arsene made it clear he wants to bring Cech to the Emirates this summer and is ready to offer him a bumper three-year contract to get the deal agreed swiftly.

It remains to be seen how much truth there is behind these reports but I’m sure if we do have concrete interest in Cech [which I think we do], it’s safe to assume we’ll be holding talks with Chelsea and the players agent to discuss a potential deal.

I’ve said for weeks Cech would be the ideal replacement for Szczesny and that hasn’t changed, so I personally hope we can get a deal agreed as quickly as possible.

Cech would be a world class addition to the squad and a major upgrade on the keepers we currently have, and his signing would go a long way into turning us into genuine title challengers.
