Ratings: Ozil superb again as Arsenal beat Everton 2-1 to go top
Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League table after grinding out a 2-1 victory over Everton at the Emirates tonight.
Here are my ratings:
Cech 8/10 – Superb save to deny Deulofeu an equaliser in the 86th minute. Could do nothing with the goal. Proved his worth yet again.
Bellerin 7/10 – Another strong performance from Hector. He bombed forward when required and was solid enough in defence.
Gabriel 8/10 – Excellent last ditch tackle to deny Lukaku lat eon. Also made at least two other superb tackles. Great display.
Koscielny 7.5/10 – Ghosted in to score the second goal and was solid at the back.
Monreal 7/10 – Another steady display once again by the Spaniard.
Coquelin 7/10 – Broke up play in the middle of the park well and even showed off some fancy footwork at times.
Cazorla 7.5/10 – Lovely free-kick to set up Koscielny and Santi dictated play for much of the game.
Oxlade-Chamberlain 6.5/10 – Gave away possession which led to the breakaway for Everton’s goal. Really needs to get this out of his game because it’s happening too often. But he was a danger at the other end too.
Ozil 9/10 – Stunning ball to set up Giroud for the opener. Yet another assist for the German. Almost got on the score-sheet but smacked from distance the post late on. Outstanding overall display.
Sanchez 7/10 – Clearly in need of a rest but he was still lively when on the ball.
Giroud 8/10 – Scored in his third consecutive game with a glancing header. Smashed the bar midway through the second half. Really stepping up his game since Walcott took his place.
Subs:
Flamini 6/10 – Missed a great chance to seal the game but missed a close range header.
