Video: Olympiakos 0-3 Arsenal: Giroud hat-trick books last 16 spot
Arsenal pulled off the miracle after Olivier Giroud scored a hat-trick to seal a stunning 3-0 victory at Olympiakos tonight.
After a sluggish start, we opened the scoring midway through the first half when Ramsey’s cross found the head of Giroud and his header squeezed in at the near post thanks to some questionable goalkeeping.
The ‘impossible job’ was then on when Giroud made it 2-0 shortly after half-time with a fine finish following some excellent play from Campbell.
The big Frenchman was then given the perfect opportunity to seal his hat-trick when we were awarded a penalty in the 67th minute, and Giroud cooly slotted home for 3-0.
The win means we leapfrog the Greeks into second spot thanks to our superior head-to-head record and we’ll now be in the hat for Monday’s knockout stage draw.
