Arsenal duo named in Champions League Team of the Season so far
Arsenal duo Petr Cech and Alexis Sanchez have been named in the WhoScored Champions League Team of the Season so far.
Cech has been an outstanding signing since joining the club from Chelsea in the summer and has proven to be a match-winner on more than one occasion.
The Czech international has shown his quality in Europe to help us through to the last 16 of the competition and his excellent display’s have earned him a WhoScored rating of 7.60.
This average score is the best in the Champions League for any goalkeeper so Cech has been named in the Champions League Team of the Season so far – which accounts for matches played in the group stages.
Our No.1 is joined in the side by star-man Alexis Sanchez who has almost single-handidly carried us through some matches this season.
He missed Wednesday’s night’s superb win over Olympiakos but has earned a score of 8.39 for his previous five performances which is enough to see him named in the Team of the Season so far.
Well done boys. Unfortunately Mesut Ozil just missed out but two have two players in the eleven is still a great achievement.
Here is the side:
