Dates confirmed for Arsenal’s Champions League clash with Barcelona
The dates have been confirmed for Arsenal’s Champions League last 16 clash with Barcelona.
We were once again drawn to play the Spanish giants in the knockout stages after the draw was held this morning.
UEFA have now confirmed the dates for the ties and we’ll play the first leg at home with Barca coming to the Emirates on Tuesday 23rd February.
This game will be just days after the FA Cup fifth round if we can get past Sunderland but worryingly we head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United on the 27th, so will have just a couple of days to prepare.
The second leg at the Nou Camp will then be held on Wednesday 16th March and once again we’ll have a tough away game to worry about after returning from Spain, as we face Everton at Goodison Park the following weekend.
So two tough Premier League away games after huge Champions League matches against Barcelona is far from ideal, but it’s the reality we face so we’re just going to have to get on with it.
Here is confirmation of the dates as revealed on Arsenal.com:
