Xhaka flies-in to London to complete £34m Arsenal move

By on May 20, 2016

Today could be the day Arsenal fans as Granit Xhaka appears to be in London to finalise his big-money move from Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Xhaka-to-Arsenal rumours have been steadily intensifying over the past few days with the Evening Standard reporting last week that we’d finally tabled a £34m bid for the Swiss international.

Gladbach were then quoted in the Daily Star as saying that they had reached an agreement with an unnamed club before Xhaka fuelled the fire even further after describing Arsenal as an ‘awesome club’ earlier this week.

However, it seems the deal is now on the verge of completion as Goal are reporting that Artan Muhaxhiri, a close family friend of Xhaka, took to Facebook last night to confirm that the 23-year-old was flying-in to London on Friday to wrap-up his move to Arsenal.

Muhaxhiri posted a photo of him alongside Xhaka with a caption saying: “BREAKING NEWS: Just confirmed. Granit Xhaka is traveling to London to finalize an agreement with Arsenal FC! Congrats Granit ‪#‎XhakaGooner‬.”

For those of you on Twitter, you may know @AFCArsenalHorse – who’s got a solid reputation in confirming transfer news, particularly when it comes to players arriving at London Colney. Well the Horse has also taken to Twitter this morning to say that his contact has confirmed Xhaka is at London Colney this morning to finalise his move to Arsenal.

So it looks like we could finally seal our first big-money signing of the summer by the end of today. Although knowing Arsenal we’ll probably find some way to drag it out until after the weekend!
