Arsenal boss offers positive update on Welbeck & Ramsey

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed a huge double boost after revealing that Danny Welbeck and Aaron Ramsey will return to full training today.

Welbeck has been on the sidelines since damaging cartilage in his knee during our game with Manchester City back in May of last season.

The attacker had only recently recovered from another knee injury which had kept him out for nine months so it was a huge blow for the former Man Utd player.

However, Danny has made good progress in his recovery this time and the boss has confirmed that Welbeck will return to full training with the rest of the squad today.

Obviously after so long on the sidelines, the club are going to be cautious with the 26-year-old so he’s not expected to feature in the first team just yet but it’s still great news to have Welbeck back in training.

Speaking at his press conference ahead of our game with West Brom on Boxing Day, Wenger also confirmed that Ramsey will resume full training today after finally recovering from a hamstring injury.

The Welsh international has missed our last three games after suffering a recurrence of a hamstring problem that hampered him during the opening stages of the season.

However, he’s back in training and will be assessed at London Colney today to see if he’s able to be in contention for a place in the squad against West Brom on Monday.
