Real Madrid star responds to Arsenal move reports
Karim Benzema has taken to Instagram to respond to reports suggesting that Real Madrid have offered the striker to Arsenal and it doesn’t seem like the Frenchman is going anywhere anytime soon.
Benzema has long been linked with a move to Arsenal and the speculation has begun once again in recent days with the Metro reporting yesterday that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is ready to offload the striker.
The claim comes after Benzema was booed by the Madrid fans every time he touched the ball during their 3-0 win over Real Socieded on Sunday following a number of poor performances.
The newspaper said that Madrid have offered the 29-year-old to Arsenal ahead of a summer move, while Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain have also apparently been sought out as potential suitors.
However, Benzema has moved quickly to dismiss the idea that he’s ready to be forced out of the Bernabeu after taking to Instagram to post a cartoon image of himself in a Madrid kit with a caption that translates to say “I never quit…”
We all know the Madrid crowd are difficult to please as they’ve even turned on Ronaldo several times over the years so Benzema shouldn’t really take it personally and it’s actually good to see him responding like this.
However, it’s certainly worth keeping an eye on how things develop over the coming months as if his relationship with the Bernabeu faithful doesn’t improve, he may just decide to seek a move in the summer.
Right now, we don’t really need another striker but if Alexis Sanchez doesn’t sign a new deal or Olivier Giroud leaves, then we will certainly need to find a world class hitman and Benzema would be ideal.
