[Tweet] Petr Cech takes to Twitter to address his mistake v Chelsea
Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has taken to Twitter after he made a huge error during our 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
It was a tough day all round as a controversial goal by Marcos Alonso gifted Chelsea the lead despite the fact he knocked Hector Bellerin unconscious with an elbow to the face as he headed home the opener.
We missed two great chances to level things up before Eden Hazard scored a superb goal to make it 2-0 shortly after half time. Cech then scuffed his clearance straight to Cesc Fabregas to gift the former Gunner a simple goal for 3-0.
We managed to pull one back in stoppage time through Olivier Giroud but we slumped to a 3-1 defeat which leaves us 12 points adrift of the run-away league leaders with just 14 games left to play.
It capped off what’s been a disastrous week as we lost 2-1 at home to Watford on Tuesday night and Cech has now taken to Twitter to admit the last two games have been difficult to swallow. However, the experienced stopper insists it’s time the players got back to work in order to get our season back on track.
Sadly, it’s too late for us in the league so we’re back to fighting for the top four but hopefully the players can pick themselves up and regroup quickly as we’ve got some big games coming up against the likes of Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Sutton United.
Tough week to swallow … the 3rd goal today just underlined it for me … now back to work to put things back on track . #COYG
