Arsenal fans rage after FA confirm referee for cup final v Chelsea
Arsenal fans are understandably incensed after the Football Association announced that Anthony Taylor has been appointed the referee for our FA Cup final against Chelsea.
I’m sure many of you will recall that Taylor was the man involved in an incident with Arsene Wenger at the Emirates back in January that led to the Arsenal boss being slapped with a four-match touchline ban.
Taylor was the fourth official during our 2-1 win over Burnley and got an earful from Wenger after the visitors were awarded a penalty in stoppage time before Alexis Sanchez snatched a last gasp winner.
The boss was seen to shove Taylor twice after he told him not to stand in the tunnel area after he had been dismissed by referee Jon Moss after contesting the penalty decision.
It was later revealed that Wenger also told Taylor he was ‘dishonest to your federation!’ before telling him to ‘f**k off’ following the heated exchange.
"Delighted, excited and very, very honoured and humbled."

Given Wenger’s recent history with the man in question, I’m gobsmacked the FA have appointed Taylor as the cup final referee as it will just bring unnecessary pressure on the man in the middle.
If Taylor gives any contentious decisions against Arsenal, questions will be asked about his impartiality and it just seems totally inappropriate for him to be in charge of such a big game so soon after the Wenger incident.
Arsenal fans are understandably not happy about the appointment as I just can’t see how Taylor won’t let his row with Wenger influence his decisions during the game.
