Revealed: Arsenal’s full 2017/18 Premier League fixture list
The 2017/18 Premier League fixtures have been revealed this morning and it’s safe to say we’ve been handed a tricky start by the ‘fixture computer’.
For the 19th time in 26 years, Arsenal start the new campaign at home with 2015/16 champions Leicester City coming to the Emirates on August 12th. Let’s hope the boys are better prepared than they were last year.
We then face two horrible away games to Stoke and Liverpool before welcoming Bournemouth to north London after the first international break in September.
Arsene Wenger will then take his squad to the defending champions the following week before back-to-back home games against West Brom and newly-promoted Brighton.
So our first three away games are Stoke, Liverpool and Chelsea but if that’s not bad enough a quick look further ahead shows that we have further tough away games against Everton and Man City to come meaning five of our first six away trips are extremely difficult.
Thankfully we have five ‘winnable’ home games before we welcome Tottenham to the Emirates in mid-November for the first north London derby of the season. The return trip will be around the 10th February.
Our Christmas fixtures don’t look too kind either as we face Liverpool at home, two quick away games to Palace and West Brom before finishing up with Chelsea at home on New Years Day.
The run-in looks reasonable on paper as we only face Man Utd away out of the ‘big 6’ during March/April/May so we will have a good chance of doing something special if we’re still within touching distance.
