[Video] Arsenal star sends message to fans as he edges closer to injury return
Santi Cazorla has sent a message to Arsenal fans after uploading a video to Instagram of him working out in the gym as he edges closer to making his return from injury.
Cazorla has been on the sidelines since aggravating a troublesome Achilles injury during our 6-0 Champions League win over Ludogorets back in October 2016.
The Spanish international was initially only expected to be out for a matter of days but the injury has proven to be an absolute nightmare as he’s been forced to undergo several operations to try and cure the issue.
After the first two surgeries failed to reduce the inflammation around the ankle, Cazorla unfortunately caught a bacterial infection when he went under the knife for a third time earlier this year.
Thankfully that problem has now been resolved and the operations should be over but the midfielder is still facing a lengthy road back to full fitness.
A possible return date in November has been pencilled in but Cazorla is going to need plenty of time to regain his match fitness so I personally don’t think we’ll see him back in the first team until the second half of the season.
The 32-year-old has now provided an update on his rehabilitation after uploading a video of him working out in the gym to Instagram and he sent a message to Arsenal fans that he’s working hard to get himself fit and says he’s ‘onestepcloser’ to making his return.
I can’t wait to see Cazorla back in an Arsenal shirt again and I maintain that we would have gone close to winning a title over the past two years if he hadn’t been struck down with Achilles injuries.
Let’s hope Santi’s recovery is a smooth one from here and we see him back in the famous Red & White shirt later this year.
