Video: Arsenal 3-1 Cologne: Sanchez seals comeback with stunner
Arsenal typically made hard work of Cologne as we came from behind to win our opening Europa League group game 3-1 at the Emirates tonight.
Kick off was delayed for an hour due to the Cologne fans causing havoc outside [and inside] the ground and the disruption seemed to get to us as we made an awful start.
Ospina came storming out his box but failed to get any distance on his clearance and the ball fell to Cordoba who fired home a stunner in to the empty net from fully 40 yards.
We barely mustered a response and went in at half-time 1-0 down which forced Wenger in to making a change; Kolasinac on for Holding as we went to four at the back.
The switch had an immediate impact as we were far more positive after the break and Kolasinac slammed home a superb volley to make it 1-1 in the 49th minute.
We went ahead midway through the second half and it was that man Sanchez – who had been having a stinker until this point – curled home a sensational goal to make it 2-1.
The turnaround was complete in the 82nd minute as Bellerin poked home to make it 3-1 after Walcott’s shot was saved.
Here are the goals:
