Team news: Wenger confirms fresh injury blow + Walcott update
Arsene Wenger has been speaking to the media at his pre-match press conference this morning ahead of our Premier League clash with West Brom on Monday.
The boss has provided an update on Calum Chambers and Theo Walcott after both players picked up injuries during our League Cup win over Doncaster last night.
Chambers was handed his first start of the season after recovering from a hip injury and he looked solid during the opening forty-five minutes against our League One opposition.
However, Chambers was replaced at the break after aggravating his hip problem and Wenger says the centre-back will now be out until after the upcoming international break.
Walcott was also given a run-out in attack last night and scored what turned out to be the winning goal midway through the first half with a fine finish from a superb Alexis Sanchez pass.
Theo then limped off with 15 minutes to go after taking a kick to his knee and Wenger says that while he’ll be checked over today, they are confident it isn’t anything serious.
Here is what the boss told reporters:
Wenger here and announces Chambers injured until after the int. break, Walcott to be checked today "We don't think it is much." #AFC
