Huge triple injury boost for Arsenal ahead of Watford + Kolasinac update
Arsenal have received some welcome injury news with Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck all expected to face Watford while there is also positive news on Sead Kolasinac.
Koscielny hasn’t played since aggravating an on-going Achilles injury during our 2-0 win over West Brom last month and was forced to miss wins over BATE and Brighton.
The 32-year-old was also unable to feature for France in their recent World Cup qualifiers but it looks as though the rest during the international break has done him the world of good.
Although Koscielny hasn’t been able to train yet this week, the Telegraph claim the defender will rejoin the main group over the coming days and be available to face Watford on Saturday evening.
Koscielny’s proposed return will come as a huge boost to Arsene Wenger as Shkodran Mustafi is facing a spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury while playing for Germany.
With Calum Chambers also still nursing a hip problem, we would have been low on centre-back options this weekend so it’s a big relief that Koscielny is expected to be available for selection.
The Telegraph also have a positive update on Ozil and Welbeck as they say the attacking duo are both back in full training and will be back in the squad this weekend.
Ozil hasn’t featured in our last four games due to a knee injury while Welbeck hasn’t played since suffering a groin injury during the draw at Chelsea last month.
There returns will provide Wenger with plenty of options in the final third so it will be interesting to see who the boss goes with in attack at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
The final piece of good news regards Kolasinac as the Telegraph claim the full-back hasn’t picked up any serious injury despite being substituted at half-time during Bosnia’s win over Estonia last night.
Kolasinac’s early withdrawal sparked panic among the Arsenal fan-base as we feared we’d suffered another injury setback, however, it seems there is nothing to worry about as the left-back should face Watford this weekend.
