Arsenal dealt fresh injury concern as key man emerges as doubt for Tottenham clash
As per Football London, Arsenal have been dealt yet another injury concern with Laurent Koscielny the latest player to emerge as a doubt for Saturday’s huge clash with Tottenham.
Koscielny played the full ninety minutes for France during their 2-0 victory over Wales in Paris on Friday night but unfortunately it looks like he aggravated his long-standing Achilles injury.
Football London are citing reports coming out from L’Equipe that claims Koscielny has been forced to miss training after feeling ‘recurring pain in his Achilles tendon’.
As we all know, the 32-year-old has suffered with his Achilles for over two years and we have to manage the problem on a daily basis so it’s a concern that it seems to have flared up again.
The centre-back isn’t expected to play any part in France’s friendly with Germany tomorrow night but he’ll need to be assessed by Arsenal’s medical team when he returns to London Colney to see if he’ll be fit for Saturday’s clash with Spurs.
Obviously it would be a HUGE blow if Koscielny was ruled out as he’s a vitally important player for Arsenal so let’s all pray the issue is only minor and he recovers for this weekend.
This news is the latest concern for Arsene Wenger as Olivier Giroud is also a doubt for the Tottenham game after being withdrawn from the France squad after picking up a thigh injury while Aaron Ramsey has also been sent home from the Wales camp.
The last thing we need are the injuries to pile up ahead of what’s going to be a huge NLD as we look to close a four-point gap on Spurs in the table.
