[Video] Arsenal star Alex Iwobi scores superb double as Nigeria Beat Argentina 4-2
Arsenal attacker Alex Iwobi scored twice to help Nigeria beat Argentina 4-2 in a friendly in Russia this evening.
After Ever Benega and Sergio Aguero had put Argentina 2-0 ahead Leicester striker Kelechi Iheanacho reduced the deficit to 2-1 shortly before half time.
The Super Eagles then staged a superb second half comeback as Iwobi levelled things up with a well taken effort in the 52nd minute before Idowu made it 3-2 minutes later.
Iwobi then sealed an impressive 4-2 victory for Nigeria as he nut-megged Javier Mascherano before cooly firing in to the bottom corner in the 73rd minute.
It’s great to see Iwobi doing so well for his country but dare I say he seems to perform better for Nigeria than he does for Arsenal?
Let’s hope Alex brings this kind of form back to London Colney as we could do with some of his magic against Tottenham this weekend – although I think he’ll probably have to make do with a place on the bench on Saturday.
