Arsenal boss confirms triple injury blow ahead of Crystal Palace trip
Arsenal will be without three key players for Thursday night’s trip to Selhurst Park to take on Crystal Palace, boss Arsene Wenger has confirmed this morning.
The manager has been speaking at his pre-match press conference and he revealed that Nacho Monreal is expected to be out for 10 days with an ankle injury.
The defender was forced off at half-time during our 3-3 draw with Liverpool last week and he’s now set to miss upcoming games with Palace, West Brom and Chelsea.
We’ll also have to make-do without Aaron Ramsey for the next few games as the midfielder is not due back from his hamstring injury until early January.
Rambo sustained the problem during the closing stages of our draw at Southampton and he’s already missed our last four matches but it remains to be seen whether he’ll be fit to face Chelsea on January 3rd.
Wenger also provided an update on Olivier Giroud and he initially appeared to confirm newspaper reports that the striker was facing up to six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring injury that he picked up against West Ham.
However, the boss then changed his mind and suggested that Giroud could be back by mid-January but either way the Frenchman is set to miss at least another five games.
Wenger told reporters:
Arsene Wenger is here previewing Crystal Palace game. Monreal our for 10 days, Giroud 4-6 weeks and Ramsey beginning of Jan.

Classic Wenger – now saying Giroud back by Jan 15.

It will be a blow to be without Monreal as he’s been one of our most consistent players this season but I’m not a fan of him playing centre-back in a back four so at least there is a silver-lining to his injury as it means Shkodran Mustafi will be recalled.
