[Tweet] Arsenal boost: Wilshere confirms he’ll be back ‘within days’ from ankle injury
Arsenal star Jack Wilshere has finally had some luck after confirming he’ll be back within days from his latest ankle injury.
Wilshere has enjoyed a run in the starting eleven of late and captained the side for our Carabao Cup semi final first leg with Chelsea and Stamford Bridge last night.
The 26-year-old was continuing his excellent form as he was superb in the first half with Wilshere showcasing some lovely touches and passes against the Blues.
However, he went down clutching his ankle early in the second half after turning his foot while blocking a cross from Victor Moses. Jack tried to continue but was eventually replaced by Mohamed Elneny in the 57th minute.
Arsene Wenger said after the game it was an ankle sprain and he hoped Wilshere wouldn’t be out for too long but given his injury record, fans were concerned he was facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines.
But it looks like Wilshere has finally had some luck with injuries as he’s taken to Twitter this evening to confirm he’s only expected to be out for a few days.
Thanks for all the messages and support after last night. Good news is i should be back in a couple of days ?♂️⚽️? pic.twitter.com/LDagEVnHmp

Phew. I think we can all breath a huge sigh of relief as it would have been devastating if Wilshere was ruled out for another significant period of time.
He’s worked hard to get back to full fitness and has been in great form lately so it would have been cruel to see him ruled out again. Plus, Arsenal can ill-afford to lose him with Aaron Ramsey also injured.
