Agent in London finalising deal as Arsenal close-in on second signing
According to a report in the Mirror, Henrikh Mkhiatrayn’s agent Mino Raiola is in London finalising the playmaker’s move to Arsenal from Manchester United.
Mkhiatrayn is expected to be included in a swap deal that will involve Alexis Sanchez joining Manchester United after Jose Mourinho’s men emerged as the front runners to sign the Chilean international.
Sanchez has reportedly agreed terms with United over a lucrative contract and now it’s all down to Arsenal agreeing a deal with Mkhiatrayn for the swap deal to go through.
Arsene Wenger admitted at his press conference this morning that the deal was ‘likely’ to happen as wages wouldn’t be a problem but he wanted everything resolved before the weekend.
It looks like we’re heading in to a vital 24 hour period and Calciomercato, via the Mirror, claim that Mkhiatrayn’s agent Mino Raiola has arrived in London to thrash out a deal with Arsenal.
Mkhiatrayn is still in Manchester and took part in training this afternoon but it looks like that could have been his final session with United as long as there are no late hiccups.
The Armenian international will have a point to prove if he does join Arsenal as he’s struggled to establish himself under Mourinho this season and I think he’ll be a better fit under Wenger.
We should see some movement in this deal over the coming hours with Mkhiatrayn poised to become Arsenal’s second addition of the January window following the arrival of Greek defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.
